About The Company

Our client is a fast-growing U.S.-based company that owns and operates multiple pet product brands across Amazon and direct-to-consumer (Shopify) channels. With a strong presence in the U.S. market, the company is scaling rapidly, managing a complex multi-SKU, multi-brand portfolio in a highly competitive e-commerce environment.

Data plays a central role in how decisions are made, especially when it comes to pricing, growth efficiency, and long-term profitability.

About The Role

This is a hands-on, SQL-driven e-commerce analytics role with a strong focus on revenue, unit economics, LTV, and profitability.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst who can independently analyze Amazon Seller Central and Shopify data, build robust profitability and LTV models, and diagnose performance drops without relying on predefined dashboards.

This role goes beyond reporting. You will act as an analytical owner of the business performance, partnering closely with leadership to identify root causes, quantify impact, and recommend corrective actions that directly influence revenue and margins.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior E-commerce Data Analyst with strong, hands-on experience analyzing Amazon Seller Central and Shopify data to support revenue, profitability, and unit economics decisions.

This is a deep, SQL-driven analytics role, not a product, CRO, or customer success position. You will work directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to diagnose performance issues, build financial models, and provide clear, data-backed recommendations.

Why Work With Us?

  • Join a performance-driven team managing multiple consumer brands in the pet products space
  • Direct exposure to leadership and high-impact decision-making
  • Fully remote, long-term contractor role
  • Own profitability, LTV, and unit economics insights in a data-first organization

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard & Reporting

  • Build automated performance dashboards across Amazon and Shopify
  • Standardize KPIs and set up alerts for anomalies in key metrics

Deep-Dive Analytics & Insights

  • Perform hands-on, SQL-driven analysis of Amazon Seller Central and Shopify data
  • Independently diagnose performance drops across revenue, margin, subscriptions, and unit economics
  • Build profitability and LTV models by SKU, channel, and customer segment
  • Analyze Amazon marketplace performance, including fees, ads vs. organic impact, and contribution margin
  • Conduct subscription and retention analysis within Shopify/DTC environments
  • Deliver insights focused on revenue efficiency and profitability, beyond CRO or product optimization

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Present insights and recommendations directly to leadership
  • Partner with growth, marketing, operations, and product teams to drive action
  • Support data-driven pricing, inventory, and subscription decisions

High-Priority Projects (First 8–10 Weeks)

  • Set up automated reporting and baseline performance analysis
  • Analyze recent pricing changes and their impact on margins and velocity
  • Build an initial profitability and unit economics framework

Required Qualifications

Technical & Analytics

  • 3+ years in a senior data or e-commerce analytics role
  • Strong SQL proficiency (joins, subqueries, window functions)
  • Experience analyzing large e-commerce datasets

E-commerce Domain Expertise

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central and Shopify analytics (mandatory)
  • Proven ability to build SQL-based profitability and LTV models
  • Experience independently investigating performance declines using raw data
  • Solid understanding of Amazon marketplace economics and Shopify/DTC models, ideally including subscriptions
  • Profiles primarily focused on Product Analytics, CRO, or Customer Success without deep e-commerce financial analysis will not be considered

Nice to Have

  • Python or R for advanced analytics
  • Experience with BI tools (Triple Whale, Peel, Looker, Tableau)
  • Experience working with multi-brand e-commerce portfolios
