Are you an experienced cloud architect who wants to shape the digital backbone of modern manufacturing?

We’re supporting an innovative industrial organisation in Tampere looking for an AWS Cloud Architect to help drive large‑scale cloud transformation, build robust data architectures, and support automation across mission‑critical production environments.

About the Role

As an AWS Cloud Architect, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the company’s cloud infrastructure across manufacturing operations, IoT systems, data pipelines, and enterprise applications.

You will work closely with engineering, production, data, and OT/IT teams to modernise systems, support factories moving to cloud‑native tooling, and ensure secure, scalable, high‑availability architectures.

Your work will directly support:

• Smart factory initiatives
• IoT sensor and device connectivity
• Industrial automation systems
• Data lakes and analytics platforms
• Predictive maintenance and machine insights
• ERP / MES integrations
• Global cloud infrastructure strategy

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS cloud architectures for manufacturing and industrial workloads
• Lead cloud migration and modernisation projects across production and enterprise systems
• Build secure, scalable environments using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, IoT Core, etc.)
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Collaborate with OT and engineering teams to integrate cloud with shop‑floor systems
• Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and disaster‑recovery strategies
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and industry requirements
• Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and technical leadership

Technical Requirements

Must‑Have Skills

• Extensive experience with AWS cloud architecture
• Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, VPC networking, and scalable design
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience building microservices or serverless applications
• Knowledge of industrial data flows, APIs, and integration patterns
• Strong experience with CI/CD, DevOps tooling, and automated deployments
• Excellent documentation and architectural diagramming skills

Nice to Have

• IoT Core or industrial IoT platform experience
• Background in manufacturing, industrial automation, or shop‑floor systems
• Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, MQTT)
• Familiarity with OT/IT convergence, MES/ERP integrations
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, ECS, EKS)
