Who We're Hiring For: Super44 is building a multimodal AI copilot that replaces the dozen fragmented tools local businesses juggle today with a single intelligent interface.

Role Snapshot: Founding Engineer, employee #2 or #3, owning core product end-to-end across backend, AI agents, and infrastructure from day one.

Compensation: €120k + equity

What This Role Is About: Super44 is two founders (Henry led engineering at SumUp, Alex was CEO Europe at a previous company he exited) building from a hacker house in Bonn with live merchants and a closed pre-seed. You will build multi-agent orchestration, browser automation across arbitrary web interfaces, and persistent business memory systems that take real action on behalf of shop owners. The team will stay small by design, capping at roughly 20 engineers total.

Location: Bonn, Germany. In-person at the hacker house. Visa sponsorship included.

What Makes This Opportunity Exceptional:

• You would be employee #2 or #3 with founding equity in a company already live with paying merchants, led by a former SumUp engineering lead and a founder with a prior exit.
• The technical problems are genuinely hard: reliable browser automation through auth flows and bot detection, multi-agent coordination across dozens of merchant tools in real time, and context systems that compound knowledge over time.
• The team will cap at max 20 engineers. Every hire is permanent architecture. You will shape the engineering culture, tech stack, and quality bar, not inherit someone else's.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Ship features from napkin sketch to live merchants in the same day, building across backend, AI agents, data pipelines, and infrastructure as needed.
• Design and build the multi-agent orchestration layer that coordinates specialized agents across merchant tools, handling auth, context, and failure recovery.
• Co-create the engineering foundation: tech stack choices, tooling, deployment patterns, and the quality bar the team will live by as it grows.

Who Will Thrive in This Role:

• You have 1 to 5 years of experience and have built and shipped real things end-to-end outside of a large company's scaffolding, whether side projects, hackathon wins, or early-stage startup work.
• You are backend-leaning but comfortable going full-stack when shipping demands it, and you know when rapid iteration needs to give way to real engineering rigor.
• You genuinely want to work hard in-person with a small team in Bonn. This is a hacker house intensity environment, not a remote async role with flexible hours.
