About Us:
Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, Samsung C&T Corporation is a global leader driving innovation across diverse business sectors, including Engineering & Construction and Trading & Investment. Established in 1938 as the very first company to carry the Samsung name, we have evolved into a trusted global powerhouse operating in over 50 countries. Today, we are at the forefront of the thermal power and energy infrastructure sector, delivering world-class Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) projects that balance efficiency with lower carbon intensity. To support our large-scale infrastructure projects in the European market, we are looking for a dedicated CCPP Project Manager to join our expert team in Berlin.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a high-caliber CCPP Project Manager to lead the complex execution of gas-to-power projects from the final engineering stages through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for the integration of gas turbines, steam turbines, and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), ensuring that these massive infrastructure projects meet stringent performance, safety, and environmental standards. We welcome applications from experienced senior experts as well as motivated looking to transition into large-scale thermal power management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end starting from the tender phase to execution of large-scale CCPP projects, ensuring technical excellence and operational efficiency.
- Integrated Planning: Develop and manage complex project schedules involving heavy-duty machinery delivery, civil works, and mechanical/electrical installation.
- Contract & Consortium Management: Create local supply chain and oversee relationships with major OEMs (turbines/boilers), EPC partners, and specialized construction subcontractors.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure all plant components comply with German and EU industrial standards (DIN, EN) and environmental regulations regarding emissions and cooling.
- Budget & Risk Control: Manage multi-million Euro budgets, tracking CAPEX/OPEX and implementing robust risk mitigation strategies for large-scale construction.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with Grid Operators (TSOs) for high-voltage grid injection and manage relationships with local municipalities and environmental agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Thermal Power Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in managing large-scale thermal power or industrial infrastructure projects (CCPP, OCGT, or similar).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of gas and steam turbine cycles, HRSG technology, water-steam cycles, and power plant control systems (DCS).
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and German is required (written and spoken) to manage local German site regulations and international engineering teams.
- Certifications: PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred; familiarity with VGB standards is an asset.
- Soft Skills: Decisive leadership, excellent crisis management, and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments. Communications skills with a cross cultural focus
What We Offer:
- Global Prestige: The opportunity to manage landmark energy projects for one of the world's most trusted corporations.
- Scale: Exposure to massive, high-impact engineering projects that define the energy landscape.
- Growth: Strategic career development opportunities in a global network of energy experts.
- Compensation: Premium salary package reflecting the complexity of the role, with performance-based bonuses.
- Perks: Comprehensive benefit package including transportation, telecommunication, health insurance, and relocation support where applicable.
