We are seeking a Project Manager to lead an initiative focused on evaluating and decommissioning a legacy backup solution. The project aims to assess the necessity and cost-effectiveness of the current backup tool, identify specific use cases where backup is required, and decommission the tool where it is no longer needed. The role involves driving a strategic, evidence-based approach to data protection, aligning backup needs with actual business requirements, and delivering significant cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for backup solution rationalization and decommissioning.
• Conduct thorough assessments to determine the necessity of the backup tool for various use cases.
• Develop and present evidence-based conclusions regarding risk and business requirements.
• Oversee the decommissioning process for the backup tool, either fully or partially, based on assessment outcomes.
• Collaborate with IT, business stakeholders, and end users to ensure alignment and smooth transition.
• Manage project risks, timelines, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and communication to drive adoption and minimize disruption.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring cost savings and compliance with risk appetite.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience managing IT rationalization, decommissioning, or cost optimization projects.
• Strong understanding of backup solutions, data protection, and risk assessment.
• Experience with evidence-based decision making and business case development.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud storage solutions (e.g., OneDrive) and migration projects.
• Background in cost reduction and license management initiatives.
• Familiarity with change management and user adoption strategies.
• Experience with compliance and risk management in IT environments.
• Agile or hybrid project management methodology experience.
