Backend Tech Lead (Golang)

Senior/Lead Backend Engineer | Oslo | Golang/Kotlin

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who combines strong hands on engineering skills with technical leadership. You will design and build reliable, scalable services while helping raise standards across the backend and data domain. The role includes ownership of critical components, mentoring engineers, and contributing to technical direction and team maturity.

You will work closely with architecture, product, and cross functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go and Kotlin
• Build secure, high performance, well tested systems
• Own and improve core backend services
• Drive scalability, maintainability, and architectural alignment
• Strengthen testing, CI CD, observability, and automation
• Reduce technical debt and resolve complex production issues
• Contribute to technical direction, prioritization, and team flow
• Mentor engineers and support recruitment and team development

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
• Strong skills in Go and or Kotlin
• Solid experience designing distributed systems
• Deep understanding of concurrency, scalability, and performance
• Experience from product driven or SaaS environments
• Cloud experience, preferably AWS
• A track record of delivering robust production systems
• Experience mentoring and influencing technical direction
