Human Resources (HR) Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Los Alamitos, California. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing HR department, providing essential administrative and compliance support. Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough audits of employee records, including I-9 forms, to ensure compliance with regulations and organizational standards.
• Support the implementation of new HR software and manage accompanying documentation.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as organizing employee files, addressing backlogs, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Generate reports and perform basic HR data analysis using Microsoft Excel, applying formulas and simple analytics.
• Help the team adapt to a dynamic work environment by quickly learning new processes and tools.
• Maintain and update HR records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and well-organized.
• Input and validate data in Paylocity, ensuring system accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with the HR team to meet deadlines and enhance department efficiency.
• Proven experience in an HR support or administrative role.
• Familiarity with HR compliance requirements, including I-9 forms and employee file audits.
• Hands-on experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and basic data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage repetitive tasks effectively.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and new technologies.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work onsite and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
