Job Description

We are seeking a strategic, data-driven Senior Manager to lead our Big Data and Consumer Market Insights (CMI) initiatives, playing a pivotal role in translating complex consumer data into actionable insights that shape business strategy. As a key team member, you’ll analyze consumer behavior, identify trends, and drive data-based decisions, aligning closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer journey and address critical business needs. This role is an excellent opportunity for a data leader with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives on influencing business outcomes.

Key Job Responsabilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive big data strategy that aligns with business objectives and leverages cutting-edge technologies (cloud platforms, machine learning, AI).
  • Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of diverse data sources, including consumer interactions, product usage, social media, and market trends.
  • Apply advanced analytics to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that address business challenges and drive innovation.
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to anticipate consumer behavior and market dynamics.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, sales) to translate data insights into actionable strategies and product roadmaps. By understanding business pain points and develop data-driven solutions that support organizational goals.
  • Communicate complex data findings in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. And drive the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools that allow business units to make informed, data-backed decisions.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by exploring and evaluating emerging technologies in big data and analytics (e.g., data lakes, real-time analytics). Utilize advanced data analytics techniques (predictive modeling, machine learning, etc.) to forecast consumer trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • Build a thriving Big Data Community across LATAM: Foster a collaborative network of data professionals across Samsung subsidiaries in Latin America. This community will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, best practice development, and driving a data-driven culture across the region. You will empower these individuals to become evangelists for data-driven decision-making within their respective operations, with a strong focus on achieving measurable business results and contributing to Samsung's overall success in the LATAM market.
  • Design and execute innovative market research studies (surveys, focus groups, customer interviews) to gather qualitative and quantitative data on consumer needs and preferences. And lead data analysis strategies that extract and interpret patterns in consumer data to understand behaviors, needs, and preferences.
  • Analyze market research data to identify key trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for differentiation. Utilize advanced data analytics techniques (predictive modeling, machine learning, etc.) to forecast consumer trends and identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the consumer electronics market, emerging trends (e.g., IoT, smart home), and Samsung's competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate consumer insights into product development, marketing campaigns, and go-to-market strategies. By identify business pain points and develop data-driven solutions that support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Statistics or other relevant areas.
  • Experience in a data-driven role, with leadership responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of business operations and market dynamics, with strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect data insights to business objectives, anticipate future trends, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • A deep understanding of consumer behavior, empathy for customer needs, and a passion for uncovering their motivations and pain points.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Able to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, build consensus, and influence stakeholders.
  • A strong team player with proven ability to build relationships, foster a data-driven culture, and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Driven to achieve goals, exceed expectations, and deliver impactful results that contribute to Samsung's success. Adept at using data to solve real business problems, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven expertise in big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), statistical analysis tools (R, Python), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). Advanced Excel.
  • Advanced English skills, Spanish will be considered a plus.
