Senior DevOps Engineer – Kubernetes | CI/CD | IaC | Amsterdam [up to €160K OTE]

One of our clients is an international trading firm operating mainly in Europe and the United States, with headquarters in Amsterdam and part of the technology division in the U.S. The organization has around 100 people, with approximately 20 in technology. In Amsterdam, there are about 40 people, including around 20 in tech, working across three development teams.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Amsterdam office as the first DevOps engineer on-site. You will report directly to the Head of Technology. This is a stand-alone role without a dedicated team, collaborating across three development teams.

The role requires a senior profile, with responsibility to assess the current environment and establish DevOps automation and practices. The current setup includes multiple developer-defined approaches, a variety of tools, and eight different databases. There are multiple CI/CD tools in use. The objective is to evaluate the existing landscape and work towards a more consistent and sustainable setup.

You will work closely with development teams that maintain their own solutions. The role requires collaboration and communication to support teams in improving automation and workflows.

The technology stack includes Kubernetes-based platforms, with both cloud and on-premise databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Redis. Kafka is used for event-driven architecture. CI/CD tooling includes Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Programming languages include Python and SQL.

The Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure/DevOps.
• Experience with DevOps best practices and creating/building this with start-up/scale-up environments.
• Required experience include SQL, Python, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform. Kafka or different mq-system experience is a big plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.

The Benefits

A base salary between €100K and €120K annually, hybrid working with three days per week in the Amsterdam office.
