About This Role
When a customer hits "Order and Pay," a thousand things happen in milliseconds. Our Order Service team is the engine that makes it all work.
As the Product Manager for Order Service, you will own the backend logic that converts a shopping basket into a successful financial transaction. You sit at the heart of our Fintech domain, acting as the bridge between our user-facing checkout UI and our downstream payout systems. You build a high-integrity orchestration layer that ensures every voucher is valid, every tip is accounted for, and every cent is accounted for.

About This Role

As the Product Manager for Order Service, you will own the backend logic that converts a shopping basket into a successful financial transaction. You sit at the heart of our Fintech domain, acting as the bridge between our user-facing checkout UI and our downstream payout systems. You build a high-integrity orchestration layer that ensures every voucher is valid, every tip is accounted for, and every cent is accounted for.
- Please note that this position is located in Amsterdam (3 days a week from our Amsterdam office and 2 days working from home)
- Architect the Checkout Logic: Own the Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) strategy for our global checkout. You’ll ensure the "Order Service" validates complex inputs (vouchers, tips, fees, customer benefits, payments) with 100% accuracy and zero friction.
- Package complex financial data into a single, clean "Order" to be consumed by downstream Payout and Finance teams globally across all our markets.
- Feel comfortable in defining API contracts and system behavior. You’ll be the person asking: "What is the fallback if a service is down?" and "How do we ensure consistency during high-traffic peaks?"
- Partner with Frontend PMs, Payment PMs, Voucher Incentivisation PMs, Payout and Finance to improve conversion rates, optimizing latency, success rates, and error-handling logic.
- Act as the gatekeeper for the Order Service. You’ll balance requests from every team that plays a role before a customer places an order against the need for a stable, scalable global platform that provides value that meets JET’s goals.
- You have a proven ability to take an influx of customer or business problems and distill them into a single, elegant action plan for your team.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments who views change as an opportunity to innovate rather than a hurdle
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude, strong multitasking abilities, and experience working in entrepreneurial or e-commerce settings.
- You don't just look at dashboards; you interrogate data to find the "why" behind the "what."
- You understand that great products are built through influence, not authority and focus on strong collaboration and relationship-building
- While not required, a background in platform/backend products, Payments, or Checkout optimization is a plus.
