DevOps Engineer

Freelance DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect GCP (Mid-Level)

We are looking for a versatile Mid-Level DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect to join us on a freelance basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust cloud foundations and automating everything in sight. You’ll start with a focused 2-3 month engagement at approximately 20 hours per week, with the potential to transition into long-term project-based work.

Role Overview

• Engagement: Freelance / Contract
• Duration: 2-3 months initial (with extension/new project options)
• Capacity: ~20 hours per week
• Level: Mid-Level (3-5 years of relevant experience)

Core Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Cloud Architecture: Optimize our existing cloud environment (GCP) for cost, security, and performance.
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Streamline our deployment processes to ensure frequent, stable, and automated releases.
• Containerization: Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitoring & Security: Implement proactive monitoring, logging, and security best practices (DevSecOps) across the stack.

Technical Requirements

• Cloud Platforms: Proven experience with GCP, AWS is beneficial
• Automation: Strong proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation suites.
• CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation tasks.
• Networking: Solid understanding of VPCs, Load Balancers, DNS, and SSL/TLS management.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Serverless architectures (Lambda, Cloud Functions).
• Relevant certifications (e.g.,GCP).
• Previous experience working in a freelance / startup environment.
