We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer (Freelance) to strengthen our team following a departure. The consultant will have the necessary knowledge of digitalisation software development & implementation for the automatization of customer support.

Primary responsibilities:

• Concept, develop or adapt applications in respect with the development methodology, based on functional and business analysis and user requirements in Java
• Ensure full understanding of all requirements and translate them into programming language and architecture
• Study and discuss the functional analysis with the designated internal contact
• Write programs in the agreed language and in line with quality standards
• Conduct test-driven development and test in integrated environments following the Agile method
• Document the software and report potential issues to functional analysts, proposing optimal solutions
• Evaluate the impact of potential changes on software modules and report any potential problems

Secondary responsibilities:

• Quality assurance — write test scenarios, test the final solution, document results, solve issues and retest
• Apply improvement actions and good practices after each milestone
• Assist team development through training and coaching of fellow team members

Technical requirements:

• Expert: Java, MQ, IIB (ACE), Web Services, Agile methodology
• Very good: Object-oriented methodology, SPARX or equivalent, IBM environment (senior)
• Good: JIRA, SVN tools, coaching & leadership skills

Profile:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience
• 5+ years of professional experience with leadership skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project planning skills
• Able to manage multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team collaboration skills
• French + Dutch (one native, one proficient) — English is an asset
