We are seeking an Azure Architect to lead design and adoption of secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient cloud platforms and modern application architectures. Responsible for designing, building and evolving a secure, enterprise-grade cloud platform on Microsoft Azure. You will lead architectural decisions, implement modern infrastructure automation, and guide teams in adopting cloud-native practices. This position blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, stakeholder engagement, and operational ownership of a mission-critical platform used across the organization aligned to Finnish/EU regulatory and security requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Designing and architecting Azure solutions, Cloud Adoption Framework, Cloud Platform design
- Drafting and presenting Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to Architecture Review Board
- Drive platform engineering foundations (golden paths, developer self‑service portals, reusable modules).
- Establish end‑to‑end observability strategy: metrics, logs, traces, SLOs/SLIs, golden signals, synthetic monitoring, and APM.
- Lead cloud adoption roadmaps, business cases, and FinOps practices; mentor teams on SRE and reliability engineering.
- Run architecture reviews, backlog shaping, and decision records (ADR); coach product teams toward platform standards.
- Embed zero‑trust principles, identity‑first security (Entra ID/Azure AD), Key Vault, and service mesh mTLS.
- Hands-on implementation of IaC and pipelines
- Kubernetes and ArgoCD related development and configuration
- Overall roadmap and sprint planning facilitation
- Presenting platform developments to customer teams and supporting them as necessary
- Participating in support, production changes, and deployments as part of tier 3
- Interaction with stakeholders (risk and compliance, security, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture board)
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Must have:
- Experience with Kubernetes and Azure (AKS, ACR, managed ids, key vaults, Redis, log analytics, Azure monitor, Prometheus) in a strict policy controlled environment, preferably in the finance sector
- Development experience with Bicep, Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub workflows, bash, python, and developer tooling in general (git, vscode, AI tooling or similar)
- SRE experience (production responsibility, observability, resilience, DR and BCP)
- Experience with working in agile and facilitation of agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, dailies, retrospectives)
Good to have:
- Experience with GitOps patterns beyond ArgoCD (Flux, CrossPlane)
- Exposure to financial regulatory frameworks (eg EBA , DORA)
- Knowledge of zero trust architectures and enterprise security patterns
- Experience with multi-region or hybrid cloud architectures
- Familiarity with cost optimization and FinOPs practices
