Back End Developer

An excellent Backend Developer (Java, SpringBoot, Microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes) opportunity has just arisen at a global financial institution building modern banking platforms.

Job Purpose:

• Design and build reliable Java applications supporting business systems in a collaborative technology team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot and relational databases.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable and efficient technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and support production systems to maintain stability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver projects within agreed timelines.
• Follow best practices including automated testing, code quality standards and continuous integration processes.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience developing backend applications using Java, Spring Boot and modern development frameworks.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures and core computer science principles.
• Experience working with relational databases, SQL optimisation and message-based integration technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices, automated testing and version control tools such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving ability with good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
