By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What You'll Be Doing

Overseeing DC management, systems administration, and monitoring while maintaining networking and security systems
Providing planning, installing, configuring, and upgrading support for vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator, and NSX-T
Leveraging expert-level experience with VMware and advanced technologies
Applying extensive knowledge of networking and security products, solutions, and services, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Security/Trust Zones
Creating network designs, blueprints, and standards for implementation in data centers
Understanding VLAN routing between L3 devices and configuring VMware environments using NSX
Supporting L2/L3 network infrastructure in a Leaf-Spine configuration aligned with VMware best practices
Implementing L3 dynamic routing such as BGP
Troubleshooting network issues and outages to ensure optimal system performance
Developing use cases for container-based architectures and NSX-T implementations
Designing secure network systems, configurations, and installations
Leading documentation and presentation efforts for VMware deployments and the delivery of complex solutions
Applying knowledge and experience with VMware’s Core Cloud Infrastructure as an added advantage
Understanding modern IT, DevOps data centers, and cloud operations
Utilizing monitoring solutions such as VMware vRealize for effective system management
Maintaining an operational background in ITIL processes, network operations, and support

What You'll Bring Along

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure with at least 3 years focused on VMware technologies.
ITIL certification (highly desirable) and experience with service management tools such as ServiceNow (a plus)
VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, CCNA, CCNP certifications or equivalent work experience.
Extensive experience in designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure at different scales (LAN/WAN/MAN)
Extensive experiences with Layer 2, 3, and 4 technologies, with the ability to apply the knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of global service provider’s core and backbone network
Experience with various networking technology, including MPLS, VPLS, VLAN, VxLAN, LTM/GTM, BGP, ACL, NAT, VPN, IPv4/IPv6
Experience with software-defined network, such as VMWare NSX
Background in automated network environments, Network components and concepts such as:Routers, switches, load balancers, and other networking and security components; Virtual networking components, dynamic routing
protocols; Networking protocols such as BGP and OSPF; VLANs, VPN, Unicast vs Multicast, Management Networks, IP subnetting, and network design ; NSX Vmware with VR & VRO
Scripting skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
A proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving and process optimization
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency
Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
