Product Manager - Apptio Platform (BI)

Your Role And Responsibilities

The Apptio Platform Product Management team works across a diverse set of global stakeholders, including customers, partners, engineering, sales, product marketing, and support. It provides a set of composable services that underpin the entire Apptio product portfolio.

In this role, you will lead the support of the evolution of the reporting strategy for the entire platform. You will use your technical expertise and stakeholder management skills to balance priorities across internal product and engineering teams and external customers and partners, drive platform capabilities aligned with company goals, and consistently demonstrate the value of platform investments.

What You'll Do

• Own and drive a strategic vision and roadmap for Apptio’s BI platform and translate it into clear tactical roadmap items that provide outcomes as we evolve our BI and reporting strategy
• Work across teams - Engineering, Sales, Support, and Marketing to gather feedback, refine strategy, and provide guidance to ensure feature adoption and success.
• Provide detailed product requirements that help the Platform Engineering team build the platform services that are leveraged by other Apptio products.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support internal teams in understanding how to leverage and integrate reporting into their product.
  
  

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated expertise in SQL, data modeling techniques, Data Warehouse (Snowflake/Oracle/etc.), and data pipelines (ETL)
• Experienced with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, ThoughtSpot, etc.
• Exposure to delivering self-serve reporting capabilities, ad-hoc data analysis, and canned dashboard and reporting widgets to help users visualize and gain value from reporting
• Product Management experience in managing foundational platforms that help deliver Enterprise SaaS in a B2B environment
• Ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous, fast-moving situations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable communication
• Familiarity with Cloud Billing and Cost Optimization
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Strong technical acumen and demonstrable experience with Cloud-based architectures and exposure to cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, IBM, etc.)
