You’ll sit in that sweet spot between data science and product, close enough to the problem to shape it, and close enough to engineering to make sure it actually lands.

The Role

This is a senior individual contributor role where you’ll be building machine learning solutions that solve real customer problems.

It’s not just modelling for the sake of it, you’ll be working through messy data, figuring out the right approach, and seeing it through to production.

A big part of the role is thinking practically:

• What’s worth building
• What’s actually usable
• And how it performs once it’s live

What You’ll Own

• Taking ideas from early exploration through to deployed features
• Applying machine learning to real product problems (not theoretical ones)
• Working with text-heavy data and turning it into something useful
• Contributing to how AI is used across the product, not just executing tickets
• Partnering with engineering to make sure things scale and hold up in production

What You’ll Be Doing

End-to-End Delivery - You’ll start with a problem, explore the data, test approaches and see it through to something that’s actually in use.

Machine Learning in Practice -You’ll work across a mix of problems — some structured, some messy — using the right approach rather than forcing one.

Working with Language & Text - A lot of the value sits in unstructured data, so experience here will matter.

Generative AI - There’s a growing focus on using modern LLM-based approaches where they make sense — not for the sake of it.

Shipping, Not Shelving - The expectation is that what you build gets used — so performance, reliability and usability matter.

What You’ll Need

• 6 years of experience building ML solutions in a real-world environment
• Strong Python skills
• Experience working with text data / NLP
• Good grounding in core ML approaches (you know when to use what)
• Exposure to modern deep learning frameworks
• Comfortable operating with a bit of ambiguity
• Experience working alongside engineers and product teams
• You’ve shipped things before — not just experimented

Location

Flexible across Ireland, remote, hybrid or office.

They get people together occasionally, but day-to-day is up to you.
