Our client is one of Europe’s largest energy companies, operating extensive electricity and gas distribution networks and serving over 47–50 million customers across the continent. Their infrastructure-spanning 1.6 million km of distribution grid-is a critical backbone of Europe’s shift toward green, digital, and decentralized energy systems.

They are a major driver of the energy transition, investing heavily in modernization, renewable integration, smart metering, and digital customer solutions.

To support the development and strengthen the team, our client is looking a Senior hands-on specialist who has designed and built enterprise DevOps platforms-not just configured single-team setups. The role demands strong architectural ability, stakeholder management, secure-by-design thinking, and proven experience delivering multi-tenant ADO environments, including migration strategy and automation, validated through pilots and early adopters.


What you will do:

  • Design a governed Azure DevOps platform including pipelines (YAML), repos, artifacts, agent pools, and permission models.
  • Build enterprise-ready architecture aligned with E.ON’s scale, security posture, and organizational structure.
  • Implement multi‑tenant isolation, RBAC boundaries, and controlled access patterns.
  • Translate enterprise security requirements into platform guardrails and CI/CD governance.
  • Integrate SAST, SCA, DAST, secret scanning into CI/CD with enforceable policy gates.
  • Automate onboarding, provisioning, and standardization using IaC templates and reusable components.
  • Define and execute phased migration plans with pilots, coexistence, and rollback strategies.
  • Create clear architecture documentation, operational guidelines, and onboarding materials for teams.
  • Provide reference implementations to accelerate adoption across development teams.
  • Support our client's teams with enablement sessions and ongoing platform best‑practice guidance.


What you need to succeed:

  • Azure DevOps (ADO) – Expert-level knowledge of pipelines (YAML), repos, artifacts, agent pools, permissions, and enterprise governance design.
  • Enterprise Platform Architecture – Proven experience designing and building environments for large enterprise customers.
  • Multi-tenancy – Strong understanding of isolation models, RBAC boundaries, shared services, and audit requirements.
  • Security & Compliance by Design – Ability to translate enterprise security requirements into platform guardrails and CI/CD governance.
  • SDLC Security Understanding – Strong knowledge of integrating SAST, SCA, secret scanning, and DAST into CI/CD patterns and policy gates.
  • Automation / IaC Mindset – Strong capability to automate provisioning, onboarding, and standardization (templates, scripts, IaC).
  • Migration Approaches – Experience defining and executing phased migration strategies with pilots, coexistence, and rollback planning.
  • Documentation & Enablement – Produce clear architecture docs, onboarding guides, and reference implementations for teams.
