Junior PHP Developer (Laravel)

Remote – WFH (meeting in Southwest regional office twice a month)

Permanent, full time

Salary – up to £30k DOE

Our client, Southern Communications Limited (part of Southern Communications Group) is a well-established and rapidly expanding company in the telecommunications industry, providing B2B and B2C solutions. Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for a friendly and approachable Junior PHP Developer (with a focus on Laravel) to join their busy team. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary, fast-growing company.

Junior PHP Developer (Laravel), the role:

• Dealing with support tickets
• Debugging issues to optimize performance
• Optimizing code base and database queries
• Managing web application using PHP/Laravel
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
• Ensuring code quality through regular code reviews and documentation
  
  

Junior PHP Developer (Laravel), the person:

• Previous, proven experience within a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of Laravel
• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript
• Familiar with Git and APIs (REST and SOAP)
• Effective collaboration and communication skills
• Curious and inquisitive
• Accountable
• Proactive with a “can-do” attitude
  
  

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Linux and Ubuntu as well as DevOps principles
• Experience of working with Agile principles
