Chief Technology Officer - Proptech

A profitable, founder led SaaS platform with strong market traction is creating a hands-on Chief Technology Officer to lead the next stage of its global growth.

The business has built a powerful cloud based platform used across thousands of buildings and facilities, helping managers, owners and tenants streamline daily operations. With strong traction across Australia and New Zealand, the next phase is international expansion and platform scale.

This role will combine technical leadership with real hands on engineering.

In the early stage you will remain close to the code while shaping the technology strategy that supports the company’s next decade of growth.

During the first year the role will be split roughly 50 percent hands on engineering and architecture and 50 percent leadership and strategy.

Responsibilities

Owning technology strategy and execution at an executive and board level

Writing and shipping production code alongside the engineering team

Partnering with the Tech Lead on architecture decisions and technical roadmap

Improving development velocity, reliability and platform scalability

Leading technical hiring and helping grow the engineering team

Driving improvements across CI CD, testing, monitoring and delivery processes

Preparing the platform and engineering function for international scale

Mentoring and developing both onshore and offshore engineering teams

Candidates Should Have

8+ years software engineering experience with at least 3 years in senior technical leadership

Experience scaling SaaS products in startup or scale up environments

Ability to balance hands on coding with leadership and strategic responsibilities

Strong communication skills and experience presenting to founders or boards

Experience managing or working with distributed engineering teams

Comfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative office based environment

Any experience with PHP, Laravel and Angular, AWS infrastructure and modern deployment practices, working with offshore engineering teams and an interest in AI powered engineering tools that improve development velocity
