Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to contribute to the development and enhancement of the banking application. This role is designed for a technical expert who enjoys building high-impact products that provide over 1 million monthly users with insights into their personal finances, including transaction categorization and budget management.

You will:

• Work within a technical environment where approximately 70% of the work is in Python and 30% is in Java.

• Develop and manage event-driven services using queuing systems like Azure Service Bus and Kafka.

• Maintain infrastructure within Azure Cloud, utilizing a mix of Functions, Webapps, and Docker containers.
  
  

• Build robust APIs using Python FastAPI and Java Spring backends.

• Integrate with various internal teams and external vendors to ensure technical alignment.

• Apply a critical-thinking mindset to challenge existing processes and drive continuous technical improvements.
  
  

• Professional Longevity: At least 5 years of professional experience with Java and/or Python.

• API Expertise: Extensive knowledge in building scalable APIs using Python and Java (Spring).

• Environment: Proven experience working in complex technical environments where integration with multiple stakeholders is required.
  
  

• Technical Versatility: You are a Python or Java engineer who is comfortable contributing to a multi-language codebase (specifically moving between Java and Python projects).

• Mindset: A critical thinker who naturally aims for improvements rather than just following the status quo.

• Cloud Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of cloud platforms; Azure experience is highly recommended.

• Nice to have: Specific knowledge of Python FastAPI.
