IBM AS Developer

Role: IBM i (AS/400) Developer – Synon/RPG

Experience

• Total Experience: 6 to 8 years
• Relevant Experience: 5+ years in IBM i (AS/400) development

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications on IBM i (AS/400) using Synon (CA 2E) and RPG.
• Adapt and integrate applications with appropriate integration technologies.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams to understand requirements.
• Participate in requirement analysis, design, development, and enhancement of application functionalities.
• Perform unit testing and ensure code quality and performance standards are met.
• Provide support during deployments and post-production activities.
• Follow Agile/Scrum methodology, contributing to sprint planning, development, and testing phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications and provide ongoing maintenance support.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in IBM i (AS/400) environment
• Hands-on expertise in Synon (CA 2E)
• Proficiency in RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG)

Desired Skills

• Working knowledge of DB2 (IBM i)
• Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD, pipelines, work item tracking)
• Familiarity with modern integration approaches/APIs
