Freelance / Contract Web Developer (WordPress)

We are seeking a freelance Web Developer with deep WordPress expertise to support both new website builds and ongoing website maintenance for our financial services clients.

This role requires a strong balance of technical skill, attention to detail, and an understanding of the unique needs of regulated industries.

Experience with FMG Suite and HubSpot (CMS and/or integrations) is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development

• Build and launch responsive, high-performing WordPress websites for financial services clients
• Customize themes and plugins to align with brand, UX, and compliance requirements
• Translate design mockups (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.) into polished, production-ready websites
• Ensure accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility

Ongoing Website Maintenance

• Execute routine updates (WordPress core, plugins, themes) and proactively monitor site health
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, formatting issues, and performance challenges
• Maintain site security, backups, and uptime monitoring
• Implement content updates and enhancements as requested by internal teams or clients

Integrations & Marketing Enablement

• Integrate websites with CRM and marketing automation platforms, particularly HubSpot
• Work within or alongside FMG Suite tools and templates where applicable
• Support SEO best practices, on-page optimization, and page speed improvements
• Assist with analytics and tracking implementation (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, etc.)

Agency Collaboration

• Partner closely with account managers, designers, and strategists to deliver against client goals
• Balance multiple client projects with varying timelines and priorities
• Ensure all work aligns with both performance objectives and industry compliance standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing websites with WordPress
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
• Proven experience customizing WordPress themes and plugins
• Familiarity with hosting environments, DNS, and website deployment processes

Preferred:

• Experience working with financial services brands (wealth management, banking, fintech, etc.)
• Experience with FMG Suite
• Experience with HubSpot CMS and/or HubSpot integrations
• Understanding of SEO, website performance optimization, and conversion best practices
• Prior experience in an agency environment
