About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk factors, and determining appropriate coverage terms and premiums. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance policies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make informed decisions that align with company policies and client needs. The Insurance Underwriter will collaborate with sales, claims, and risk management teams to ensure comprehensive coverage solutions and maintain high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Prior experience in insurance underwriting or a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of insurance policies, underwriting guidelines, and industry regulations is essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to succeed in this role. Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite is also expected. A professional certification such as CPCU, ARM, or ARe is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications by analyzing risk factors, client history, and policy details to determine coverage eligibility and premium rates.
• Develop and recommend appropriate insurance policies tailored to client needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with sales teams to review quotes, clarify policy terms, and support client acquisition efforts.
• Monitor existing policies to identify potential risks and recommend adjustments or renewals as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions, policy documentation, and correspondence.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure underwriting practices remain current and effective.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance underwriting expertise and industry knowledge.
• Assist in the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines and procedures to improve efficiency and risk management.
