Role Overview

 Junior DevOps Engineer Job Description

A Junior DevOps Engineer supports the development and operations teams by helping automate, deploy, and maintain applications and infrastructure. This role focuses on improving system reliability, streamlining CI/CD pipelines, and learning DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Support application deployment and environment setup
  • Monitor systems, applications, and infrastructure performance
  • Help automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools
  • Troubleshoot basic issues in development, testing, and production environments
  • Work with cloud platforms to manage infrastructure
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams for smooth releases
  • Maintain documentation for processes and systems
  • Ensure basic security and compliance practices are followed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 02 years of experience (freshers with relevant skills can apply)
  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP)
  • Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker)
  • Basic knowledge of orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
