Join us as a Java Software Developer in Helsinki or Lisbon. As a member of our Purchase Optimization team, you will work on developing advanced software solutions that optimize purchasing and replenishment processes. Our mission is to help our customers reduce risks in their supply chain, lower logistics costs, and minimize waste. You’ll be part of a supportive, cross-functional team that will help you grow and succeed in your new role.

This is some of what you’ll be doing:

• Developing new and improving existing functionality of our SaaS product serving hundreds of customers. This often includes building algorithms that utilize linear optimization or heuristic methods, as well as implementing methods to fetch the needed data and outputting the results back to our database.
• Participating in the design of the new solutions in cooperation with our team’s product experts and data scientists.
• Developing and maintaining software components primarily in Java, but also smaller parts in Kotlin, Ruby, and other languages.
• Designing and developing automated tests for our solutions.
• Ensuring that our software processes vast amounts of data in a performant manner with optimized code and performance tests.
  
  

We’re looking for:

• Experience in production-quality software development with Java
• Experience in backend development, including designing and implementing complex business logic
• Solid understanding of data structures, scalability, and writing efficient, concurrent code, particularly for high-performance systems such as in-memory databases.
• Eagerness to design, plan, and communicate your work and how we build solutions.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Interest in and willingness to learn about supply chain management and optimization.
• Fluency in spoken and written English (it’s our company language).
  
  

We Consider As An Additional Advantage

• Previous experience or other ability to work with Kubernetes
• Previous experience with or other understanding of supply chain software
• Previous experience working with linear programming algorithms and optimisation libraries
• Prior experience with cloud-based architectures and solutions, especially on Microsoft Azure
