Senior Software Engineer

This 6-month project is set to start as soon as possible and we’re looking for two Senior Software Engineers to join the team.

Your role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in implementing the backend architecture and APIs that deliver dynamic content for games. Your primary focus will be on implementing the architecture that’s under development for a new game configuration and dynamic content system, utilising Java and Spring Boot.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders of connected systems, like Frontend tooling and Game SDKs, to define the APIs and evolve the architecture throughout the implementation process. While you’ll be part of a skilled and motivated Tech Team, this role requires you to work independently and deliver results with minimal assistance, such as occasional code reviews. You’ll be expected to visit the Helsinki office 1-2 days per week for collaborative teamwork.

In this role, you’ll work on an exciting project that’s expected to take around 6 months.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• At least 4-6 years of experience in software development.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and implementing (REST and/or GraphQL) APIs.
• Experience using modern DevOps pipelines (Containerization, CI/CD).
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
• Self-driven, proactive and capable of making decisions independently.

Nice to haves:

• Prior experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Prior experience with distributed, containerized applications (Kubernetes or equivalent).
• Experience working with either SQL (RDS, Postgres, etc.) or NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis) databases.
• Experienced with Event Queue based architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
