Forward Deployed Engineer

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join a hyper-fast growthing European SaaS scale-up, who are building cutting-edge AI agent technology for large enterprises. Their platform helps organisations design, build, test, deploy, and monitor AI agents for complex workflows across voice, chat, email and back‑office systems, in any language and cultural context.

We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their founding team in the BELUX region.

Role

This is not a traditional product engineering position. You’ll partner directly with enterprise customers to understand critical workflows, design AI‑driven solutions and build or fine‑tune agents that perform real tasks in production.

It’s a hands‑on, generalist role for software engineers who enjoy problem solving, responsibility, and seeing the real‑world impact of what they build. No two days will look the same and every client’s tech landscape will offer different challenges for you to tackle.

What you will do

• Work directly with customers to understand operational challenges and success criteria
• Translate open‑ended problems into clear technical designs and implementations
• Own the delivery of the AI agent platform and guide clients on best practices
• Build AI agents that integrate with customer systems, data sources, and APIs
• Lead ad hoc workshops with client teams
• Write production‑quality code to support integrations, logic, and workflows
• Own deployments, including reliability, performance, and continuous improvement
• Test with real data, measure outcomes, and iterate quickly
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to improve the platform
• Contribute to tools, documentation, and delivery practices that help the company scale

Who you are

• Several years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building and scaling end‑to‑end production systems
• Strong experience integrating platforms into customer environments using APIs, cloud infrastructure, MCP, and production data flows
• Strong technical problem‑solving skills
• Comfortable working directly with customers and owning ambiguous problems
• Clear communication skills and a strong ownership mindset
• Genuine interest in building AI‑powered systems that work in practice
• Fluent in English and at least one local language (Dutch or French)

Nice to have

• Experience in forward deployed, solutions engineering, or other customer‑facing technical roles
• Exposure to AI agents, automation, or conversational systems
• Experience in a fast‑growing startup environment
• Familiarity with modern cloud environments
• Experience with TypeScript, Go or Python
