Your Role at Nutrient…

We're looking for someone passionate about building robust and scalable backend systems. Specifically, someone who is excited about working with modern cloud technologies and distributed systems to power our Document Engine and SaaS products. We are looking for a developer who finds satisfaction in architecting high-performance solutions, optimizing system reliability, and creating efficient backend services that handle complex document processing workflows at scale.

What You’ll Work On…

• Execute on the design and implementation of high-performance Elixir/Phoenix-based systems such as Nutrient’s Document Engine and Web Services API.
• Design and build declarative infrastructure, robust, scalable and easy to observe and maintain (we are currently using Terraform, Terramate and FluxCD).
• Share ownership for architecture, tools and services, contribute to product development and customer success.
• Collaborate closely with a small, remote-first engineering team to ship features, debug hard problems, and continuously improve reliability. Meet in person with the team periodically to align and reflect.

• have experience in backend services and distributed systems
• know how to code — it is fine if you never used Elixir, we’ll help you learn
• like perfect architecture and pretty code, but know what is good enough
• speak up when something is not right, provide honest feedback and be ready to listen for it
