Senior Product Designer (Technical / Figma Focus) – Contract

We are supporting a global fintech organisation in hiring a Senior Product Designer to join a growing design team working on international payment and merchant platforms.

This is a high-impact contract role, focused on designing scalable, user-centric products across web and mobile, with a strong emphasis on technical design capability within Figma.

The role

You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end product design across complex fintech platforms, working closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

A key focus of this role is acting as a “technical designer” within the team — someone who not only designs, but understands how design systems are structured, scaled, and integrated into development workflows.

What you’ll be doing

• Design high-quality UI/UX solutions across web and mobile products, including acquiring portals, merchant platforms, and payment applications
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs, ensuring usability and visual consistency
• Contribute to and evolve the design system, including structure, components, and variables
• Work closely with engineering to ensure design feasibility and implementation alignment
• Conduct user research, testing, and validation to inform design decisions
• Translate complex user and business requirements into intuitive, scalable product experiences
• Monitor UX/UI trends and continuously improve design standards

Technical design focus (key requirement)

We are specifically looking for a designer who brings a development mindset into design:

• Strong experience working in Figma at a technical level
• Ability to structure design systems, variables, and components in a scalable way
• Understanding of how design translates into code
• Exposure to Figma plugins or exporting design outputs (e.g. HTML/CSS workflows) is highly desirable
• Comfortable collaborating closely with engineers on implementation

we’re looking for

• 4+ years’ experience in Product / UX/UI Design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design
• Proven experience working with and expanding design systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working in complex digital products (ideally fintech, payments, or platforms)
• Highly proficient in Figma
• Strong understanding of user research, usability, and interaction design
