Job Description – Databricks Python Developer (DBT)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Python Developer with strong expertise in Python, SQL, and DBT to design and build scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Databricks, data transformation frameworks, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks
• Develop data transformation workflows using DBT
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for large-scale datasets
• Build reusable Python-based data processing components
• Work with structured and semi-structured data in distributed environments
• Implement data quality checks and validation frameworks
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Optimize performance of data pipelines and ETL processes
• Ensure best practices in data engineering, version control, and CI/CD
• Deploy and manage workloads in Kubernetes-based environments

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering
• Advanced SQL (Oracle SQL preferred)
• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool)
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
• Experience with large-scale data processing
• Understanding of distributed computing concepts

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines
• Knowledge of Spark / PySpark
• Experience with Delta Lake
