Product Manager - Financial Services

Our client is a leading cloud accounting platform built for small businesses and the self-employed. Their Financial Services division is expanding to add embedding lending, billpay, and broader financial products directly into the platform to help SMBs manage cash flow and access capital without leaving their workflow.

The Role

This is a product management role sitting at the intersection of SMB finance and embedded fintech. You will own the roadmap for Financial Services. These products directly affect how small business owners access money and pay their bills. You will work across engineering, design, data, and external financial services partners to ship things that actually move the needle for customers.

This is not a strategy-deck role. You will be close to the data, close to customers, and close to the sprint, while keeping one eye on the six-month horizon.

What You'll Own

Product Strategy: Define the why behind your product area. Own the Financial Services roadmap and communicate it clearly to stakeholders at every level.

Customer Understanding: Develop genuine empathy for the SMB experience around access to capital and cash flow. Translate that into product requirements that solve real problems.

Partner Integration: Work with data and financial services partners to deliver seamless embedded experiences. Manage the commercial and technical relationship between FreshBooks and its fintech partners.

Data-driven Decisions: Use analytics, competitive research, and customer insight to understand what's working, what's not, and what to build next. Connect leading and lagging indicators to outcomes.

Delivery: Manage sprint-level priorities without losing sight of the broader roadmap. Roll up your sleeves when the team needs it.

Quality: Own the quality of your product area. Continuously raise the bar on both the product and the process.

What We're Looking For

• 4–5 years in product management, ideally with exposure to financial services or embedded fintech
• Working knowledge of lending, billpay, payments, or similar financial products within a SaaS platform
• Strong data fluency. A.i. you use analytics to make decisions, not to decorate slides
• Clear communicator who can translate complex concepts for engineers, execs, and partners alike
• Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Experience shipping major features quickly and iterating on customer feedback
• Familiarity with embedded finance operating models in the US and Canada is a plus
• Agile experience preferred
