Who we are:
Leo Berwick is an innovative mergers and acquisitions consulting firm. We are comprised of experienced advisors from global law and accounting firms that add value to transactions as trusted partners throughout the deal life cycle. At Leo Berwick, we hire the best and the brightest. Our teams deliver a dedicated and customized service to every client.
As a growth-stage company, we move quickly, work collaboratively, and value people who take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our culture is grounded in high performance, continuous learning, and the shared ambition to build something exceptional, together.
About the role:
Leo Berwick is investing in the technology that underpins our advisory work. Our product and engineering teams build internal platforms that support complex, high stakes M&A engagements, from document heavy workflows to insight generation and process automation. This role sits within the firm’s technology function and plays a critical role in enabling how our advisors work and deliver value to clients.
We’re hiring a Product Manager to drive day-to-day execution across our product portfolio, translating strategy (set by the Head of Product) into shipped, measurable improvements. You’ll work closely with engineering to run the delivery engine, ensuring the right work is prioritized, clearly defined, and reliably shipped. This role has a direct mandate to shape a product roadmap focused on expediting and improving complex M&A deal workflows.
Important context: This is a generalist role in a small team. You’ll span discovery, delivery, stakeholder coordination, and outcome measurement. We’re actively designing the support model so you can stay focused on high value product work.
Benefits & Perks
- Unlimited paid time off including 2 weeks of disconnected time annually
- Tuition reimbursement
- Cell phone stipend
- Attractive medical, dental insurance
- Pension & retirement contributions
- Monthly fringe benefit stipend (up to $400)
- Additional benefits to support your physical and mental wellness
Scope & Outcomes
In your first 90–120 days, you will:
- Establish a dependable delivery cadence with Engineering (grooming > sprint-ready tickets > shipped increments).
- Produce clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that reduce rework and unblock the team.
- Implement a lightweight, repeatable feedback loop (users > insights > prioritization > release notes > adoption outcomes).
- Define and track feature success metrics tied to workflow outcomes (not just output).
Responsibilities
Execution & Delivery (Primary)
- Own delivery of roadmap initiatives within strategic guardrails set by the Head of Product.
- Maintain a clean, prioritized, sprint‑ready backlog.
- Partner with engineering on sprint planning, dependencies, and blocker resolution.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs (UX, marketing, stakeholders) so engineering can execute without thrash.
- Ship with quality, ensuring validation, documentation, and measurable outcomes.
Discovery & User Understanding (Required)
- Engage directly with users to understand workflow pain points and translate them into prioritized decisions.
- Maintain lightweight discovery artifacts (problem statements, assumptions, constraints, test plans).
Process & Product Operations (Shared)
- Help shape how the team builds (templates, documentation standards, feedback loops).
- Maintain product delivery hygiene (release notes, change logs, sprint reporting, basic roadmap hygiene).
Administrative coordination will be offloaded where possible so the PM can focus on outcomes.
Decision Rights
You are empowered to:
- Make day‑to‑day feature prioritization and backlog sequencing decisions.
- Manage story‑level scope tradeoffs within sprints in partnership with engineering.
The Head of Product retains ownership of:
- Portfolio‑level strategy, multi‑quarter roadmap direction, and major go/no‑go decisions.
- Pricing/commercial strategy (if applicable) and cross‑product prioritization.
Who You’ll Work With
- Head of Product - strategy, prioritization guardrails, escalation decisions.
- Engineering - delivery cadence, technical constraints, sprint execution.
- UX / Design - workflows, usability, iterations.
- Users / internal stakeholders - pain points, requirements, adoption outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years in a product management role (SaaS preferred), delivering from discovery through integration.
- Exceptional written communication – an ability to produce requirements that are clear without needing a meeting to interpret.
- Comfort with ambiguity - pragmatic judgment and bias for shipping.
- Collaborative, low-ego, able to execute within a defined strategy while constructively pushing back.
- Pragmatic Agile fluency.
- Bonus: Experience with AI‑assisted products, document‑heavy workflows, or exposure to M&A, financial services, fintech, legal tech, or due diligence.
