Solution Engineer – Agile Delivery Master (Java / Cloud)

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 3 days onsite near Brussels-South)

Contract: 12 months (extendable)

Languages: Dutch + French + English (mandatory)

About the Role

We are hiring an Expert Solution Engineer / Agile Delivery Master to join a major federal digital transformation program (eDossier), running through at least 2028.

This is a hands-on leadership role—you won’t just coach Agile teams, you’ll actively design, build, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions while driving Agile execution.

You’ll work alongside a highly skilled team in a high-impact, high-visibility environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily, Planning, Refinement, Retrospective, Demo)
• Own delivery planning, including release calendars and dependency management
• Design and develop scalable Java-based solutions (APIs & microservices)
• Drive end-to-end technical delivery across cloud-native environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges
• Promote best practices (DDD, BDD, TDD) and share knowledge across the team
• Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

🔹 Core Technical Expertise

• 10+ years of Java (Java SE) development (incl. Java 10+)
• Strong experience with Microservices & API design
• Solid background in Event-Driven Architecture (event sourcing, messaging)
• Experience in Cloud Native environments (preferably Azure)
• Familiarity with Angular or modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Azure DevOps

Architecture & Engineering

• Proven experience designing scalable, secure systems
• Knowledge of DDD, BDD, or TDD
• Experience working with structured & unstructured data in hybrid cloud

Agile & Leadership Experience

• 5+ years as a Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead / Delivery Master
• Experience in greenfield projects (cloud, APIs, event-driven systems)
• Strong knowledge of SAFe and/or LeSS frameworks
• Comfortable in a hands-on leadership role (not just coaching)
