Position Overview

The Shopify Developer is the technical engine behind our global digital storefronts. You will manage the technical evolution of both our B2B and Retail platforms, ensuring they are fast, accessible, and optimized for conversion. This role is central to our global expansion; you will spearhead the implementation of Shopify Markets and customize theme logic to meet the unique needs of international territories. We are looking for a self-motivated problem solver who bridges the gap between creative design and high-performance code.

Key Responsibilities

Theme Development & Optimization

• Build & Launch: Develop high-fidelity, responsive landing pages and custom theme sections to support marketing campaigns.
• Performance Engineering: Implement code-level improvements to enhance site speed (Core Web Vitals) and ensure full ADA compliance across all digital touchpoints.
• Technical SEO: Maintain best-in-class search visibility through optimized Liquid templates and structured data (JSON-LD).
• B2B & Retail Logic: Develop and maintain distinct theme customizations that cater to the different shopping behaviors of our wholesale and retail customers.
  
  

Global Expansion (Internationalization)

• Shopify Markets: Lead the technical setup and configuration of Shopify Markets to support multi-currency, multi-language, and regional content.
• Localization Logic: Architect theme solutions that adapt seamlessly to regional requirements without compromising global site stability or customer experience.
  
  

Collaboration & Code Quality

• Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Marketing and Operations to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Code Reviews: Actively participate in peer code reviews to ensure maintainability, security, and adherence to best practices.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for custom integrations and theme modifications.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for support requests and bug fixes, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Core Stack: Strong foundational programming logic; you understand how to structure data and build for scalability, not just 'making it look right'. Exceptional proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Vanilla/ES6).
• Growth Mindset: A documented history of being a self-motivated, fast learner. You aren't afraid to dive into the "unknown" and enjoy tackling complex technical puzzles.
• Project Execution: A proactive self-starter who excels in an evolving roadmap. You enjoy seeing your work go live quickly and can effectively prioritize multiple workstreams to meet milestones during busy launch windows.
• Hybrid Collaboration: Strong verbal/written English. While based in Estonia, you must be comfortable working primarily via Google Meet and chat, collaborating with stakeholders across different time zones.
  
  

AI-Augmented Development: An active interest in the evolving landscape of AI-powered development. You are open to experimenting with agentic code editors like Cursor and understand how to leverage AI for debugging and documentation without compromising on fundamental engineering principles.

Resourcefulness: Resourceful and autonomous; you are the type of developer who consults documentation, experiments with APIs, and finds the 'why' behind a bug before asking for a solution.

Preferred:

• Shopify Experience: 1+ years of professional Shopify development experience (Liquid, JSON schema, Shopify APIs).
• Code Portfolio: A portfolio or GitHub that demonstrates clean code and creative problem-solving (even if it’s not Shopify-specific).
• Modern Tools: Experience with React, version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows
• Global Collaboration: Experience working with distributed teams across varying time zones.
• Ownership & Accountability: You take pride in the stability and performance of our global storefronts, maintaining 100% accountability for the code you ship to production.
• Solution-First Thinking: You don’t just patch a bug; you investigate the root cause and implement long-term fixes that improve the overall health of the codebase.
• Continuous Learning: You stay curious about the evolving Shopify ecosystem and emerging web technologies, proactively suggesting ways to modernize our stack.
