Senior UX/UI Designer

MERO is Romania's leading beauty salon marketplace - connecting thousands of salons with millions of clients through a platform they use every single day. We're looking for a senior designer who thinks in systems, designs with data, and leaves ego at the door.

You'll own the end-to-end design of our mobile and web experiences - from discovery research through pixel-perfect handoff. Our product is used daily by salon professionals and their clients across Romania, which means every design decision has immediate, tangible impact on real businesses.

This isn't a "make it pretty" role. You'll sit at the intersection of product strategy, engineering, and user research. You'll challenge assumptions (including your own), dig into behavioral data, and shape features that drive activation, retention, and revenue.

What You Bring

Mobile-First Design

Deep, proven experience designing native and hybrid mobile apps. You understand platform conventions, touch ergonomics, and the constraints of small screens - because you've shipped real products on them for over a decade.

Figma-Native Workflow

Figma is your primary design environment. Auto layout, components, variants, dev mode - you use these fluently and can structure files that scale across a growing team.

Design Systems Builder (or Learner)

You've built or contributed to a design system before - or you're deeply curious about it and ready to build ours from the ground up. Tokens, naming conventions, documentation: you get why this matters.

Data-Informed, Not Data-Blind

You use analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, and A/B test results to inform your decisions - not to replace your judgment. Intuition backed by evidence is your default mode.

What You'll Do

• Own the design of MERO's mobile app (primary) and web platform - from concept to production-ready specs
• Build and maintain a scalable design system in Figma that serves as the single source of truth for product and engineering
• Run lightweight user research - interviews, usability tests, and contextual observation in real salons
• Collaborate daily with Product and Engineering to scope, prototype, and iterate on features
• Analyze product usage data to identify friction, validate hypotheses, and measure the impact of your work
• Advocate for the user when business pressure pushes for shortcuts - and know when a smart shortcut is the right call
• Create flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mocks, interactive prototypes, and detailed hand-off documentation

Bonus Points

• Experience in marketplace or SaaS platforms - especially two-sided products where you design for both merchants and consumers
• Familiarity with the beauty, wellness, or services industry
• Working knowledge of front-end basics (HTML/CSS) — enough to speak engineering's language
• Experience with motion design and micro-interactions (Lottie, Rive, or Figma prototyping)
