IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

Gain hands-on experience from day one and be encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of tasks, and build solutions that are used at scale. English is our working language, and you will work closely with experienced engineers in a collaborative team environment.

This is a 6‑month paid internship focused on practical experience, learning on the job, and close collaboration with the team.

As a Backend Engineer Intern, you will:

• Support the development of modern backend software that powers the digital commerce experience for Mercedes-Benz.
• Help build and maintain microservices-based web applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional team (including frontend, QA, DevOps, and product) on backend-related tasks and features.
• Learn and apply DevOps principles to contribute to the testing, deployment, and monitoring of backend solutions.
• Participate in team discussions to solve technical challenges in practical, efficient ways.
• Assist in designing software and system architectures, gaining exposure to technical specification processes and proven design patterns.
  
  

Job Requirements

TO SUCCEED YOU NEED

• To be currently finishing your degree in a computer science, software engineering or related technical field
• To have a way of working that is characterized by team spirit, excellent communication skills in English (mandatory) and high-quality standards set to yourself for what you produce
• To be willing to embrace DevOps and Agile methodology
• To be willing to learn from a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team
• Some professional experience/internship experiences are a plus but not mandatory.
