Cyber Security Operations Manager

At Gorenje d.o.o., we are seeking a strategic and experienced SOC (Security Operations Center) Manager to lead and coordinate our security operations.

This key role is central to defending our organization against the growing landscape of cyber threats. You will be responsible for providing expert leadership, advanced technical oversight, and driving the continuous improvement of our security posture. You will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and will be responsible for managing a team of security engineers and analysts.

Work Location: Ljubljana (BTC), with occasional travel to Velenjewhere is Hisense Europe HQ

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the team of experts within the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Strategically plan, develop, and execute the SOC’s operational framework and long-term vision in alignment with business objectives.
• Coordinate internal Incident Response engineers (SOC/CERT), external partners (e.g., external SOC providers), and all internal stakeholders during security incidents.
• Oversee the 24/7 monitoring of security events, manage Incident Response (IR) processes, and ensure the timely analysis and resolution of threats (L1/L2/L3).
• Manage the SOC budget, including technology procurement, licensing, and professional services.
• Prepare regular reports on SOC performance, security posture, and the threat landscape for senior leadership and the CISO.
• Lead complex security investigations, coordinate forensic activities, and manage communications during major incidents.
• Drive the automation and orchestration of security operations to improve efficiency.

Education and Work Experience:

• VII. or VIII. level degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership role within a SOC or a similar environment.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC (e.g., GSOM, GCIH), or equivalent are highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate a technical team.
• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles, the threat landscape, and advanced attack techniques.
• Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, NDR, and vulnerability management tools.
• Excellent knowledge of Incident Response frameworks, cyber forensics, and threat intelligence.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Active knowledge of the English language.
