Information Security Engineer – WAF

The Role:

We are looking for an Information Security Engineer with a strong passion for security-at-scale to join our growing team.

The Information Security Engineer will play a key role in ensuring our services, applications, systems, and websites are protected to the highest security standards. A core responsibility of this role is the administration of Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Bot Management systems. Additional responsibilities include system hardening, patching, and supporting the organization’s overall security posture.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Administer and manage WAF and Bot Management systems
• Perform system hardening and ensure secure data handling during transmission, storage, and processing
• Implement and manage access controls, including Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions, to ensure secure and compliant access to critical systems
• Review and enforce application control policies, ensuring only authorized software is executed and that software usage complies with organizational security standards
• Review security violations and recommend procedures to prevent recurrence
• Provide support to end users on security-related issues
• Participate in incident management

Main requirements:

• BSc/MSc in information security or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Security, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Akamai security products.
• Practical experience with Akamai WAF, BMP, and other related tools
• Strong security expertise in Windows, Linux, virtualization environments and databases.
• Familiarity with access control mechanisms, such as Privileged Access Management (PAM)
• Experience in implementing and managing application control policies and reviewing software execution to ensure compliance with organizational security standards
• Solid understanding of networking and communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, HTTP, HTTPS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving security challenges

The following will be considered an advantage:

• Akamai certifications or completed courses
• Experience with AWS Cloud Security
