Overview

The Endpoint Engineer is responsible for designing, building, securing, and operating endpoint and workplace technologies across the organisation.

This role focuses on hands-on engineering, automation, and continuous improvement of endpoint services, ensuring devices are secure, compliant, and optimised for user experience. The engineer works closely with Cyber Security and IT teams to implement security-by-design, aligned to CIS Critical Security Controls (CIS90).

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint Engineering & Build

• Design, build, and maintain endpoint configurations, baselines, and deployment standards
• Engineer and improve device build, provisioning, and lifecycle processes
• Implement secure configurations (hardening, policies, controls)
• Develop and maintain automation for endpoint deployment and management
  
  
  

Security Engineering

• Implement endpoint security controls (EDR/XDR, encryption, compliance policies)
• Align endpoints with CIS90 and internal standards
• Identify and remediate configuration drift and security gaps
  
  
  

Endpoint & Asset Management

• Maintain endpoint inventory and visibility
• Optimise lifecycle processes (joiners, movers, leavers)
• Ensure secure provisioning and decommissioning
  
  
  

Patch & Vulnerability Remediation

• Engineer patching solutions and deployment mechanisms
• Remediate vulnerabilities within SLAs
• Work with Cyber teams on risk-based prioritisation
• Automate compliance reporting
  
  
  

Incident Response Support

• Support endpoint-related incident investigations
• Execute containment actions (device isolation, access restriction)
• Assist with root cause analysis
  
  
  

Local Technology & User Experience

• Improve user experience and device performance
• Support workplace and site technology
• Act as an escalation point for complex issues
  
  
  

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Automate provisioning, policy deployment, and compliance
• Improve endpoint posture using data and metrics
• Support Secure Score improvements
  
  
  

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work with Cyber, Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams
• Support rollout of new tools and controls
• Ensure scalable and secure solutions
  
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on endpoint engineering experience
• Experience with Intune – managing Windows, MacOS and Android devices
• Experience with endpoint security controls
• Patching and vulnerability remediation knowledge
• Automation/scripting (PowerShell)
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles (CIS/Zero Trust)
• Troubleshooting complex issues
• Strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Relevant technical experience or certifications in endpoint, infrastructure, or security.
