Cisco Network Engineer

We are seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining Cisco-based network infrastructure across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, security, and wireless systems, to ensure reliable and secure network performance.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Cisco network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points

• Implement and support network security policies using Cisco security devices and manage Cisco DNAC

• Monitor network performance using Cisco Prime, NetFlow, SNMP and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime

• Document network configurations, changes, and operational procedures

• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for seamless infrastructure integration

• Provide on-call support for network-related incidents and ensure rapid resolution

• Stay updated with latest Cisco technologies and recommend improvements

• Assist in planning and executing network upgrades and expansions

• Vendor management, coordination and call logging

• Ensure network availability, performance, and security compliance

🎯 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment (Cisco IOS, NX-OS, ASA)

• Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)

• Experience in switching technologies (VLANs, STP, Layer 3 switching)

• Experience with Cisco security technologies (Firewall, IPS, Cisco ISE)

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Cisco Prime, SolarWinds, Nagios)

• Proficiency in CLI configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco devices

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

⭐ Preferred Certifications / Skills

• CCNP certification or higher preferred

• Experience with Cisco wireless technologies (Aironet, WLC, MSE)

• Knowledge of Cisco DNAC and SD-Access environments

• Experience in network automation (Ansible, Python, Puppet)

• Exposure to cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure
