Job Details

Description

We’re looking for a Front-End Software Developer with a strong passion for user experience -- someone who blends solid engineering fundamentals with a deep appreciation for intuitive, elegant, and human-centered design.

In this role, you’ll build and modernize production web applications while shaping experiences that are simple, scalable, accessible, and delightful to use. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to reduce friction across the customer journey and bring thoughtful experiences to life through clean, maintainable code.

This is a hands-on role for a developer who cares as much about how things feel as how they work.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain front-end features for production web applications with a strong focus on usability, accessibility, and performance
  • Translate UX concepts—wireframes, flows, prototypes, and research insights—into high-quality, responsive interfaces
  • Collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility
  • Modernize and refactor legacy front-end code to improve maintainability, consistency, and user experience
  • Implement and expand unit testing to ensure long-term quality and stability
  • Contribute to design discussions by providing technical input and advocating for user-centered solutions
  • Participate in problem discovery and solution design, from concept exploration through delivery
  • Share knowledge and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and craftsmanship
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve systems, processes, and the overall user experience

Required

What You Bring

  • Strong proficiency in modern front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS/Sass/SCSS)
  • Experience building user interfaces with attention to interaction design, accessibility, and performance
  • Solid understanding of software development best practices and version control (Git)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with designers, developers, and non-technical stakeholders
  • A problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for building things the right way

Preferred

  • 3+ years of professional experience shipping production-ready front-end or full-stack web applications
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React (preferred), Angular, or Vue
  • Familiarity with .NET and relational databases (MySQL)
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications or design systems
  • Exposure to UX research methods (usability testing, journey mapping, personas)
  • Experience working within agile development environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS or similar)

What Sets You Apart

  • You care deeply about users, not just features
  • You believe great design is as much about behavior and emotion as it is about utility
  • You enjoy collaborating, giving and receiving feedback, and refining ideas together
  • You have a passion for well-designed, well-built digital experiences
  • You’re curious, adaptable, and motivated by continuous improvement

A digital portfolio or examples of front-end work (code, live sites, or case studies) are strongly encouraged, especially those demonstrating UX thinking and interaction design.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $75,000 – $85,000

Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. This position is not eligible for a variable pay component as part of the hiring range.
