Snr Civil Engineering

Job purpose

Implement Civil engineering tasks and support in implementing key Civil tasks & Projects under Manager Engineering Services scope’s through (1) Providing technical support in implementing the key Civil Engineering RES’s & Projects. Initiates, find route cause and develops best solutions to eliminate defects and performs the action for their implementation, and (2) Implement Civil Engineering tasks and supports Team Leader; in order to ensure that the equipment design meets the approved engineering design criteria, applicable code & standard and functional requirements including compliance with department strategy and project specifications.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise that results in time/Cost-effectiveness, safe, reliable, and high-quality Customer-focused Civil Engineering Services.
• Deliver High-quality Civil Engineering Services for refinery & Petrochemicals unit OPEX and CAPEX projects.
• Effective defect elimination of existing design faults for Civil / Structural facilities for refinery/petrochemicals unit.
• Provide quality Civil engineering solutions/recommendations for plant modifications.
• Continuously improve capabilities, processes, procedures, practices, and systems for the civil engineering discipline.
• Provides input to planned civil works/projects sequential activities as per approved Scope of Work (SOW) and ensures availability of required resources.
• Prepare Civil estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule & budget, manages implementation and performance accordingly.
• Prepares Contract development plans and contractual Scope of Work (SOW) for the execution of engineering services and delivers engineering packages as per Management of Change (MOC) to all concerned.
• Review of Project proposal by the external contractor(s) in conformity with the contractual technical specifications as applicable codes & standards, prepare TBE and issue recommendations for award
• Work on SmartPlant 3D Model, carry out a quality check to ensure the databases submitted by EPC Contractors are as per Contract scope and good engineering practice.
• Coordinate meetings to discuss & coordinate schedules, timing, and critical & priority work, identifying manpower and equipment requirements.
• Performs site supervision of works for quality checks and to ensure that project completion, acceptance, and handover procedures are implemented as per project specifications and company policy, applicable code & standard.
• Provide quality Civil engineering advice, solutions/recommendations for plant modifications

Education requirements

Minimum Qualifications for this position is a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)

Background and experience

Competencies and skills

• Senior Engineer: 8+ years of relevant experience

Both:

• Well versed on the latest International Code & Standards related to Civil / Structural Engineering
• Knowledge of Engineering Software like STAAD /AutoCAD for Structural Engineer for Civil Engineer
• Experience in reviewing, executing Engineering Software like STAAD /AutoCAD for Structural Engineer
• Working knowledge on SmartPlant 3D, PDMS
• Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and HSE plans.
• Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports
• Knowledge of personal computer applications such as Primavera / Maximo / MS Project SAP, XL spreadsheets, Project management tools.
• Experience in handling FEED/EPC Contracts
• HSE (Permit to Work – PTW, Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response)
• Good knowledge and expertise of SAP (PM & MM & FM Modules) Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Experience and well versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
• Understanding of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
