About the Role

As a Director - Data Science in data platforms and personalization team, the role focuses on building AI-driven travel experiences by designing intelligent agents for trip planning, itinerary creation, and real-time user support. It involves developing personalized and dynamic recommendation systems, as well as creating multi-modal solutions that leverage text, images, and user preferences to enhance the overall travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents that assist travelers in trip planning, itinerary creation, and real-time query resolution.
• Deploy models that power contextual personalization and dynamic recommendations for a seamless user experience.
• Build multi-modal systems integrating travel data (text, images, and customer preferences) for enriched user interactions.
• Innovate in latency reduction and scalability for AI pipelines to ensure fast and efficient deployment in production environments.
• Collaborate on designing systems for search relevance, intent detection, and query optimization using advanced NLP techniques.

What you’ll bring to the table

• Experience Level: 14+ years
• Education: BE/BTech from Tier 1 institutes (IITs/IIITs/NITs). Preferably MS or Ph.D. in CS/ECE/AI/ML or equivalent.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow and proficiency in transformer-based models such as GPT-3/4, T5, BERT, or similar.
• Expertise in NLP techniques, including text generation, summarization, sentiment analysis, and embeddings.
• Practical experience in developing and fine-tuning LLMs using techniques like distillation, few-shot learning, and policy optimization.
• Domain Knowledge:
• Deep understanding of data-centric machine learning to enhance model performance with well-structured datasets.
• Experience with AI-driven personalization, search relevance, and ranking systems, particularly in travel or e-commerce domains.
• Problem-Solving Prowess:
• Ability to solve complex problems, with a focus on latency optimization, efficiency, and domain-specific relevance.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset for collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals.
