Network Test Engineer

We are looking for a Network Test Engineer with strong experience in routing & switching validation and Cisco technologies (CCNP/CCIE).

This role focuses on testing, not network support or operations.

SIT Switching Engineer – DevTest (Profile Validation | CCNP/CCIE Level)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Cisco switching engineer with strong DevTest expertise to configure, test, and validate network profiles/templates tailored for different customer segments such as education, government, and enterprise. The role involves ensuring that predefined configurations meet performance, security, and scalability requirements across use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

Profile-Based Configuration & Validation (Core Focus):

• Configure and validate network profiles/templates for:
• Education (campus networks, labs, high user density)
• Government (secure, compliant environments)
• Enterprise (scalable, high-availability networks)
• Customize profiles based on segment-specific requirements
• Ensure profiles adhere to best practices, security standards, and design guidelines
• Perform end-to-end validation of profiles in lab environments

Switching & Network Design:

• Configure Cisco switches (Catalyst/Nexus) for profile use cases
• Implement:
• VLANs, trunking, STP (RSTP/MST)
• Inter-VLAN routing
• QoS policies (important for education & enterprise traffic)
• Validate high availability (HSRP/VRRP/Stacking/VSS)

DevTest & Validation:

• Develop test plans and certification criteria for each profile
• Execute:
• Functional testing
• Scale testing (large number of users/devices)
• Performance and failover testing
• Identify gaps in profiles and recommend improvements
• Debug and troubleshoot issues found during validation

Automation & Tooling:

• Automate profile deployment and validation using Python / Ansible
• Use Cisco pyATS / Genie for automated testing
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git)
• Use APIs (RESTCONF/NETCONF) for configuration validation

Lab & Simulation:

• Build and maintain test environments using:
• Cisco Modeling Labs (CML)
• GNS3 / EVE-NG
• Simulate real-world scenarios for each customer segment
• Validate interoperability and upgrade scenarios

Education Profile:

• High-density user support (students, labs, Wi-Fi heavy traffic)
• QoS for video/online learning
• Segmentation for labs and departments

Government Profile:

• Strong security (ACLs, segmentation, compliance policies)
• Controlled access and monitoring
• High reliability and audit readiness

Enterprise Profile:

• Scalable VLAN architecture
• Redundancy and high availability
• Performance optimization and traffic engineering

Required Skills:

• Strong Cisco Switching expertise (L2/L3)
• Experience in profile/template-based configuration
• Deep knowledge of:
• VLANs, STP, trunking
• Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP basics)
• Hands-on DevTest / QA experience in networking
• Strong troubleshooting and validation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure)
• Experience with SD-Access / VXLAN / EVPN
• Exposure to automation frameworks and DevOps practices
• Experience in product validation or solution engineering
