Frontend/Backend GIS Developer

Orange is one of the main actors on the telecommunications market in Belgium and Luxembourg. The company offers its residential customers postpaid and prepaid innovative mobile telecom products and services. On the business market, Orange operates DSL fixed network telephony and high-speed internet, acts as an integrated communications provider and offers a portfolio of mobility and connectivity services. Orange is also a wholesale provider, offering access to its infrastructure and service capabilities to its wholesale partners.

For our IT department, we are actively looking for a motivated Frontend/Backend GIS Developer.

This role is based in Brussels or Charleroi.

Your main responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain GIS applications based on open-source Java technologies and web frontend frameworks
• Design and deploy mapping services using GeoServer, PostGIS, and Oracle Spatial
• Develop dashboards and interactive applications with R / Shiny
• Set up development and deployment environments via Docker
• Collaborate with business teams to translate mapping requirements into robust technical solutions

Your profile:

• University degree or equivalent by experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in frontend and backend development
• Skills in cartographic frontend development (JavaScript, Angular, OpenLayers/Leaflet)
• Knowledge of spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial) would be a plus
• Hands-on experience with Docker (containerization, deployment) would be a plus
• Experience/knowledge of the telco field would be an asset
• Team player and customer oriented
• Fluent French and English
