Contract Software Engineer

We’re looking for a skilled Contract Software Engineer to join our fully remote team. You’ll work hands-on across the stack using Next.js, Node.js, .NET/C#, and TypeScript to build performant, secure, and scalable web applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems with modern technologies and collaborating closely with product and design teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Next.js, Node.js, .NET/C#, and TypeScript

• Build responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces for customer-facing eCommerce platforms

• Implement backend services and APIs using REST and GraphQL

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code using frameworks such as Jest, xUnit, or NUnit

• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability

• Integrate with third-party platforms and services

• Work with cloud-native components including Azure Functions, Service Bus, and event driven architecture

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning

• Contribute to CI/CD workflows and automated testing and deployment pipelines

• Participate in the team’s on-call support rota, with coverage mostly focused on daytime hours

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS

• Solid experience with Next.js, React.js, and Node.js

• Backend development experience with .NET/C#

• Experience with Azure, including Functions, Service Bus, and Cosmos DB

• Familiarity with SQL (MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB)

• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and asynchronous data flows

• Comfortable working with Docker and CI/CD pipelines

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Bonus Skills

• Experience with eCommerce platforms

•Familiarity with CMS integration and SEO best practices

• Experience with rendering strategies in Next.js (CSR, SSR, ISR, SSG)

• Exposure to Agile development and DevOps practices
