Job Title: Senior Project Manager -Terminal
Location: Schiphol, NL
Duration: 12 Months contract
Portfolio Delivery
In collaboration with clients, users, facility managers, contractors, and consultants, we execute projects within the complex airport environment. In doing so, we take operational processes into account to the greatest extent possible. Together with approximately 400 colleagues, we work in a safe and sustainable manner on projects spanning infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems, interior design, and non-residential construction.
As a Project Manager, you translate your talents into action to achieve the following objectives:
• You maintain a comprehensive overview and take the lead—focusing more on overall direction than on technical content—thereby making a significant contribution, together with your team, to the final project outcome and to the satisfaction of your clients and stakeholders.
• You serve as the face of the project and are responsible for leading the project team, facilitating internal decision-making, managing a complex stakeholder landscape, and ensuring overall project control within established frameworks—including, but not limited to, the available budget and schedule. In this context, it is crucial to ensure that responsibilities are assigned to the appropriate parties whenever necessary.
• You possess the ability to manage technical and operational challenges, translating them effectively for both the project’s executive governance level and your wider professional environment.
In this role, you remain calm and composed—even when the pressure is at its highest. Furthermore, you easily build rapport with others. In addition, you possess:
• Extensive experience (>10 years) as a project manager on the client side of large-scale, complex construction-related projects within an operational environment (project values > €30 million).
• A technical bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field—such as Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Civil Engineering—supplemented by education or training in project management (IPMA and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner).
• The ability to provide functional leadership to project teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, both within Schiphol Group and externally.
