Network Engineer - Senior Consultant (f/m/d)

Tasks


  • You will configure, deploy, and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points, in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Aruba, Checkpoint)
  • You will develop and enforce network security standards and best practices
  • You will perform regular updates, patching, and certificate management for network devices to ensure business continuity
  • You will drive network automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions; NAC implementation (Cisco ISE + Aruba switching)
  • You will diagnose and resolve complex LAN/WAN/Firewall and wireless issues promptly
  • You will conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network incidents and implement preventive measures
  • You will troubleshoot connectivity issues related to firewalls and VPNs
  • You will collaborate with other IT Security teams and business units to ensure alignment of infrastructure with security and business requirements


Qualifications


  • At least 5 years of experience operating IP-based network (LAN+WAN)
  • At least 5 years of experience on working with wireless networks (Cisco controllers is a plus)
  • Practical knowledge of network vendors (Aruba, Cisco)
  • 3+ years Cisco ISE hands on experience
  • Familiarity with network zone concepts (e.g., DMZ, internal, external, restricted zones)
  • Experience in network automation tools and scripting - Python
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, make design decisions, and mentor junior staff
  • Advanced level of English ( B2-C1), German ( nice to have)


Nice-to-have:


  • HP IMC experience
  • Exposure to cloud networking and security (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Start: by arrangement - always on the 1st and 15th of the month
  • Working hours: full-time (40h); 27 vacation days
  • Employment contract: Unlimited
  • Line of work: Consulting
  • Language skills: Fluency in English (B2-C1), German (nice to have)
  • Flexibility & willingness to travel
  • Other: a valid work permit
