Our client, a well-established civil construction firm with operations across the Lower Mainland, is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to join their team in Surrey, BC. This role offers a clear path to grow into a Project Manager position for the right individual.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Support the execution of civil construction projects from start to closeout, assisting with schedule, budget, and safety tracking.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to support planning and execution.
  • Manage project administration including RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and progress billing.
  • Support procurement of materials and subcontractors, including issuing POs and tracking costs.
  • Track project progress, quantities, and unit costs, identifying and flagging any variances.
  • Attend site meetings, take minutes, and help maintain clear communication between stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits to support coordination and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation including deficiencies, turnover packages, and completion certificates.



Ideal Candidate Requirements:



  • 2+ years of experience in a Project Coordinator role within civil construction, with exposure to underground utilities projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficient with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) and MS Office.
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across the Lower Mainland.
