Our client, a well-established civil construction firm with operations across the Lower Mainland, is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to join their team in Surrey, BC. This role offers a clear path to grow into a Project Manager position for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of civil construction projects from start to closeout, assisting with schedule, budget, and safety tracking.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to support planning and execution.
- Manage project administration including RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and progress billing.
- Support procurement of materials and subcontractors, including issuing POs and tracking costs.
- Track project progress, quantities, and unit costs, identifying and flagging any variances.
- Attend site meetings, take minutes, and help maintain clear communication between stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to support coordination and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist with project closeout documentation including deficiencies, turnover packages, and completion certificates.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a Project Coordinator role within civil construction, with exposure to underground utilities projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project controls.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficient with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) and MS Office.
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across the Lower Mainland.
